How we help

Rescued food distribution

Unocart is working with food rescue orgs to use our logistics system to help them distribute food to people in need more effectively. Getting food donated is not the problem, the real challenge is distributing food to people in need before it goes bad.

Grocery app that gives back

For every order you place on that is over $50, you help us donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to someone in need. The donations help food charities rescue surplus food from the food industry and distribute it to feed people in need. One meal is equivalent to $0.25-$0.50 based on SecondBite meal equivalency calculation. Over 5,000 melas donated

 But why hunger?

Tyler Spooner, CEO & Co-founder, spent some time on the streets and relied on charities for food.

We are passionate about this issue because we have personal connection to the problem.

Unocart's co-founder and CEO Tyler Spooner became an orphan at the age of 10 and grew up in foster homes and government care. He often didn’t know where his next meal was coming from.

“I have always wanted to help people who are in the hard situation I faced growing up.”

He is now focused on paying it forward through and supporting the food rescue charities who can really make a difference in people’s lives.
